Things to do in NJ

New Jersey is a state full of history. There are many places to visit that showcase this. I personally enjoy visiting Smithville, the Cape May Lighthouse, SS Atlantus, and a WWII lookout tower.  Smithville is in Galloway, NJ, right near Stockton University. This small town is open every day all year round. Walk along the cobblestone pathways and bridges and you will be sent back in time. There are a total of 60 shops to visit and enjoy. Each store has a small business and homey feel. smithville started at the Historic Smithville Inn in 1787. They offer a sophisticated dining experience. They also have the Colonial Inn Bed and Breakfast where they recommend spending at least two nights. This ensures that you can experience everything the town has to offer.  Every weekend, Smithville has an array of events that can be participated in. one of my favorites is the Renaissance Fair. Casinos are a great place to visit in New Jersey. NJ has a total of 23 with 10 of them located in Atlantic City. Of course you have to be 21 to gamble, but I still love to go to AC with my family. Casinos have evolved to become more family friendly over the years. There is much fun to have for all age groups. In Atlantic City, my family and I like to stay at Bally’s Casino. It is right on the boardwalk and most rooms have an incredible view of the beach. During my visits, a lot of my time is spent swimming in the ocean. Bally's also has a huge outdoor pool, as well as an indoor pool with a spa area. Both of these are very clean and well taken care of.  Ballys' also has an arcade section. They have skee-ball, claw machines, air hockey, basketball, etc. Claw machines are always my favorite. New Jersey has an endless amount of amusement parks throughout the state. Amerusment parks are one of my favorites things about my beautiful home state. I have been to quite a few and I hope to explain the fun at least half as much as what I experienced at these wonderful places. The Funplex and iPlay America are two very similar amusement parks but they are equally as fun. The Funplex is in East Hanover, NJ and iPlay America is in Freehold, NJ. They both offer a 4D theater, laser tag, go karts. They have an arcade area and a bunch of amusement rides. All activities are pay as you go and parking is free at both locations. I had a birthday party at the Funplex when I turned 11 and they made the experience amazing! My family and friends all had a great time with laser tag and go karts. When I was a kid my favorite play to go to was Storybook Land. It is located in Egg Harbor Township, NJ on the Black Horse Pike. New Jersey is a beautiful state to live in and visit. There are a lot of national and state parks within this 8,723 square mile state. It is a park that experiences all four seasons which makes the nature within it that much more beautiful. My favorite park to visit is Cooper River Park. It runs through Pennsauken, Cherry Hill, Collingswood, and Haddon Township. It is a total of 346 acres. As a kid, going to this park was the best part of my weekend spent with my grandparents.   We would take a loaf of stale bread to feed to the birds and ducks in the river. We would also watch the turtles walk in and out of the water. The playground is massive and I could spend hours there.       The amount of activities offered at this park is endless. The have the playground with pavilions scattered around it. This provides plenty of space for parties and gatherings. They even have 4 separate picnic areas.
