Ski Resorts
New
Jersey Ski Resorts are a rare sight but we definitely have them! And they are
definitely worth visiting. You can’t forget about winter time. There are 3 ski
resorts in the lovely state of NJ.
The
first ski resort is Mountain Creek in Vernon Township, NJ. It is 47 miles from
NYC. It is the largest Ski Resort in New Jersey. This resort has 167 skiable
acres and 4 interconnected peaks. They have a total of 7 ski lifts. Mountain Creek
is known for being a resort that teaches. They offer golf, lodging, spa amenities,
skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing, many restaurants, and much more. A one day
pass to all of these activities is $79 for adults and $59 for children. It might
seem a little pricy but it is worth it. The fun from snow tubing alone pays for
the ticket twice.
The
next ski resort is Campgaw Mountain in Mahwah, NJ. They are part of the Ramapo
Mountain Region. There are 1.3 km of slopes and 2 ski lifts to transport guests.
They also offer lessons starting at $39. They have daily group, private, and semi-private
lessons. A daily ticket is $45 per person. They have two 18 hole golf courses.
Campgaw Mountain has been open for 58 years and they get an average snowfall of
45 inches.
The
last ski resort is the American Dream Meadowlands in East Rutherford, NJ. It is
not open yet but it is projected to be open in June, 2019. It is an indoor ski
resort. They offer skiing and snowboarding for .3 km of slopes. There are more
than 450 shops and more than 100 eateries. They have an indoor ice rink, indoor
theme park, indoor water park, concert hall, indoor ski slope, 18 hole mini
golf, dine-in cinema, bowling alley, and aquarium.
I
recommend going to all. The one at the top of my bucket list is the American
Dream Meadowlands. I cannot wait until they open. It will be a great spot for
children and I will be one of the children when I am there!
